TESCO saying every little helps. The Mayor of London and Transport for London (TfL) have come up
with the Oyster card bus and tram discount scheme,
Whereby you pay "half-price bus and tram travel" to get half priced travel concession for your journey. But there is a catch to get it!
The catch is... To qualify for the bus and tram discount card, you must be:
• Live in a London borough,
• And be an Unemployed Londoners in receipt of Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) or the new Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
• And not getting any other free or discounted travel
• And if you're aged 18+, you may be eligible for discounted travel
TfL in partnership with mayor of london has introduced a number of targeted fares reductions and concessions
to help those on low incomes who are feeling the impact of economic downturn.
It is intended that the discount will help those who benefited from the previous Income Support discount scheme who have now been made ineligible by the changes to the benefits system that the Government has recently introduced.
TfL will provide you free of charge your Bus and Tram discount photocard. All tickets and photocards are the property of TfL as issued in accordance with TfL's terms and conditions (TAC).

Which you pay no more than 5p per minute if calling from a BT landline or Virgin media landline. There may be a connection charge. As you know charges from mobiles or other landline providers may vary.
Once you get the bus and tram discount photocard. TfL do monitors the bus and tram discount photocard scheme to check for abuse and fraud.
If there is any violation of these TAC or TfL's conditions of carriage, TfL reserves the right to remove your concession associated to your Oyster card loaded with the Bus and Tram discount card without any notice.
The Mayor of london in partnership with TfL has already introduced a number of targeted fares reductions and concessions, including reduced off-peak Tube fares, half price bus fares for Londoners on Income Support, free travel for war veterans and the 24 hour Freedom Pass on all TfL services.
Once you start receiving appropriate state benefit you should apply for a bus and tram discount photocard tfl card.
If your bus and tram discount photocard application is successful, you will be issued a discount tfl photocard.
With this, you can continue to use the tfl photocard and accompanying tfl Oyster card to travel at discount rate until the tfl photocard expires, even if you come off benefits entitlement.
Note that once your bus and tram discount card is expired, which is printed on the front of the tfl card, YOu MUST NOT used it after this date.
Be aware that your tfl photocard bears your passport photograph and in it, the accompanying tfl oyster card loaded with the bus and tram discount is for use by the named individual only.
You should NOT allow anyone else to use your bus tram discount photocard, as if you do so, you may have your tfl photocard withdraw, and the person will face a penalty fare and/or prosecution.
Please be aware that your tfl photocard is only valid for six mionths.
If your tfl photocard has been issued for longer than six months, transport for london (tlf) has the right to stop your travelling benefits and/or your oyster card loaded with the bus and tranm discount without warning.
Under no circumstances should TfL be held liable for any delays in issuing your photocard and no refunds will be made in respect of tickets bought prior to you receiving your tfl photocard.
To enjoy the benefits of bus and tram discount card, you are expected to carry BOTH valid Bus and Tram Discount photocard with accompanying tfl Oyster card wil a valid Bus and Tram discount loaded on it.
It is a violation of tfl's TAC for any body to have more than one valid Bus and Tram Discount photocard or more than one valid tfl Oyster card loaded with the Bus and Tram Discount at any one time.
TfL reserves the right to take away the additional tfl Oyster cards loaded with the Bus and Tram Discount without notice.
You can only loaded Oyster cards with the Bus and Tram discount as Oyster Ticket Stops in many newsagents and hundreds of other shops in London and Tube Station ticket offices.
If your Bus and Tram Discount Photocard Application was unsuccessful, TfL has the right to refuse to issue you a tfl photocard, and will NOT returned to you the application form and passport photograph.
In addition, TfL reserves the right to terminate or amend the Terms and Conditions (TAC) of the scheme at any time.
